So I just spent a whole assload of money on a Surface book, but I'm having issues with the audio working through HDMI. Basically, I plug the mini displayport to hdmi adapter (which works perfectly on my surface pro 3) into the computer and 90% of the time it doesn't even detect an audio output at all. I right click to playback devices and only the speakers show up. This happens on both my TV and computer monitor. Roughly 10% of the time it does detect the HDMI audio and plays windows sounds through my tv, but as soon as I open a game, I get no audio at all. I've tried downloading drivers from microsoft's website with no success. Is this likely a hardware issue that would involve me sending the damn thing away to micosoft for a replacement or is this a common issue?

Also when the dGPU kicks in sometimes I can hear a faint clicking coming from the base, not sure if it's related or even an issue. I ran into the problem with a Surface Pro 3 after the Windows Anniversary update, don't know if it applies to Surface Books or Surface Pro 4s. Basically, Hyper-V causes an issue with audio over HDMI, if you uninstall Hyper-V you'll get sound back. If you need Hyper-V you need to run these administrator commands: 2. Switch Hyper-V on and off using the following command in an Adminstrator command prompt: bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off.
